The Renewal Ballot – March 4th – March 31st, 2021
The ballot to renew Aberystwyth BID will be held in line with The Business Improvement Districts (Wales) Regulations 2005 by Civica, on behalf of Ceredigion Council – the ballot holder.
Every hereditament with a RV of £6,000 or more within our ‘BID Area’ will be eligible to vote.
The formal Notice of Ballot to BID voters will be issued by post on Wednesday 17 February 2021. This provides one last opportunity to designate a named voter if this has not already been done.
Ballot papers will be issued by post to the named voter at the nominated address on Wednesday 3 March 2021. The ballot will open on Thursday 4 March and businesses will have until 5pm on Wednesday 31 March to return completed ballot papers.
The result of the ballot will be declared on Thursday 1 April.
If a majority of businesses (by both number and rateable value) vote in the ballot to support the BID’s renewal, then Advancing Aberystwyth’s second term will formally start on 1 April 2021 and the projects, services and support for business will continue for another 5 years. If there is a ‘No’ vote, all projects and services delivered by Advancing Aberystwyth will end immediately and there is no replacement organisation that will continue with this work.
